Message	license plate violation was to create probable cause for a traffic stop, and to find "bad things". Initially, those were aimed at gang activity, but have been stretched to include "heavy felonies" like illegal fuel rails, etc. Kind of a reasonable idea gone overboard. Why some in the Law Enforcement community refer to the CHP (no offense to the Chippies on the board) as "The Auto Club With Guns". Put that front plate on (I leave mine off, and just pay the periodic fine). Take care, Mark
